Greetings Everybody, and I'm Fido Artz and this is my thoughts on Fandoms. fandom's Are Communities that are Based around a Huge majority of People with a common Interest in a television show, movie, video game, book, or other franchise based media. when a franchise becomes very popular it immediately gets a huge following of loyal fans. creating a fandom or a fanbase and, out of those fanatics there are creators or artists that make anything supporting their franchise they fell in love with. fanfictions, fan art, fan characters, FMV, and even fan animations. sometimes fan content is what keeps a franchise afloat.

Common Fandom's like say furries, bronies, Trekkies, and Cosplay tend to be the biggest recurring Fandoms in the world. that have a huge following. which earns them their own conventions (or cons for short) where people of said fandom's can hangout, share ideas, participate in activities and panels, and even meet up with not only with mutual friends and online friends who share the same interest in the fandom but also meet special guests of honor like voice actors, artists, animators, writers. and creators of a show. as a man of many fandom's, i think cons would be very fun to go to. and not just to show my artwork and future animations in the panels and vendor halls. but to hangout with my friends and see what the experience is like being at any of these cons. comic cons, furcons, bronycons, cosplay-cons, webcons, even video game conventions and expos like E3 and PAX. im sure its gonna be a good time for everyone even if it has its ups and downs, i might even vlog them along with possible comical shenanigans that might happen there.

But, how does one get into a Fandom? what it truly boils down to is what lies DEEPLY within your honest interests. like if your interested in a certain cartoon or video game franchise. that makes you a fan of said franchise. if your fan of common concepts like anthropomorphic characters for example animals with human like personalities, expressions, and features. that makes you a fan of that said interest. if your a fan of a certain media genre, well. you guessed it. your a fan. there is even somethings like movies, tv shows, and games that are not popular and does not get a big following. but, still gets a small following commonly known as a cult following. and you yourself can be a fan of those too. regardless, of the said media or franchise being more or less popular.

Now the question would be how active are you towards a fandom community? This is a big question you're most likely to get asked by your friends or yourself. like if your very quiet and do very little in the fandom. that makes you a non-active fan. however, if you participate in fandom activities, talk with other fans, or contribute fan made creations to the fandom. that considers you an active fan. and an easy way to be known by the fandom is to be active in general and contribute your talent to the community.

but, there are some cases that some people also join fandoms out of loneliness and do feel the need to belong. other cases they join said fandoms out of mutual friendship and comradely with another friend or contact who share the interest in the same fandom they are both in. besides those two cases overall, there are many reasons people join a fandom. yourself can also join a fan community. However, it doesn't matter how active you are in the community. its again how much of a deeper passion or a interest you have in the fandom. the reason why you join the fandom in the first place.

But, if you have a deep liking for a fandom based creation like a animation or a piece of art work but then get all defensive on yourself because you don't consider not apart of that said fandom or avoid being in a fandom because of the negative commentary, opinions, rumors, gossip, or misconceptions being said about the fanbase or the fear of the consequences of everything you could get labeled for if your apart of it. well, the only thing i can tell you is remember this phrase: "Be honest with yourself" if you have a deeper passion for a fandom more then just liking a artwork based on a certain interest or franchise. don't fear to be honest to yourself. sure, you can have a reason to like something about a franchise or a fandom. the concepts, the stories, the characters, and such. but that does not necessary labels you as a member of the fandom.

however, if you have a deeper passion for not liking but loving the fandom because its your diehard interest, want to meet people and want to create content for the said fandom. again, be honest with your true self and express that creativity and don't hold back. regardless, what negative things being said about you and the fandom your in, does not define you or the entire community itself. ofcourse, Yes there are gonna be Not-So-Good infamous Fans in the community who gives the fandom a bad image or portrayal, usually starting drama. still that does not define the entire fandom community as of whole. a fandom is not good or bad its just not perfect. and yet you can still become part of it. even if its not perfect. it really goes down to your opinion and experience about being the fandom. but aside with being honest with yourself, you also have to decide how honest you are going to be with other people around you. rather your a Closet Fan who keeps his or her interests to themselves or shares them with certain friends or an Open fan who shares their interest in a fandom with everyone. anti, pro, or neutral likewise. their is still gonna be respect from your loyal fans and friends with you and your choices in the long run.

And the Last question would be How many Fandoms can you be in?  the answer: As many as you want. you can be in more than just one Fandom. take me for example, i can be Honest with myself to say that i am a fan of many things. i can be a Furry, a AquaCadet, a member of the Chikarmy, a fan of lucha libre, a fan of Kaiju Big battel, a TF2 Fan, A nintendo Fan, A fan of many famous and internet famous creators, a fan of a couple of bands, musicians, and certain genres, and even a diehard fan of Cartoons and Animations. So this kind of breaks the labeling thing in two. So, yeah that pretty much sums this up you can enjoy a franchise or interest without being in a fandom, join a fandom for any reason you want, and be in many fandoms as many as you want. regardless, whats being said about them.

But, what are your thoughts. What reason interest you to join a fan community?  did you have a good or bad experience being in the fandom? How many Fandoms are you in and how active are you in that community?

I'm open to your response on my thoughts on this topic. until next editorial. this is Fido Artz  have a blessed good day and stay artzy ^_^
